Stand Up and Celebrate in 2018…

A growing number of studies clearly show that sitting for long periods of time negatively impacts human health. To combat this, a variety of companies are offering “standing desks” that costs hundreds, in some cases, thousands of dollars, that enable you to stand at your workstation rather than sitting. What if we told you that you could get all of the benefits of standing, also have the option to sit any time you want – AND – move to any area you wanted?

“How are you going to move anywhere you want, and sit and or stand with one workstation?” you ask. Let us explain.

EPC, Inc. has recently acquired a large number of Multi-function, Variable-height, Mobile Task Carts that offer outstanding options when it comes to being able to stand, sit AND move anywhere you want. Each of the units, in addition to offering a variety of height options, also include a rechargeable mobile battery pack*. This gives you literally free-flowing access to anywhere you want to take it either in home, home office or business across the board.

Still not sold on these hard industrial plastic, multi-function phenomenons?

Let’s talk about price. The original retail price for each of these units in this form (model number, number of drawers, battery size, etc) was $3,000+. EPC, Inc. is ready to get you yours for just $50 and shipping. (NOTE: Laptop, Backpack, Keyboard & Mouse and All Drawer Contents are for Display Purposes Only)

Shutting Down or Moving? How to Choose the Right Asset Disposition and Remarketing Partner

From Patrick Mann: ITAD SalesEPC, Inc.

Whether you’re a property manager, an IT or data center manager, a lessor, or a liquidation manager, when your company charges you with disposition of physical IT assets, there’s little room for error. Because of the unplanned and chaotic nature of the situations that call for IT asset disposition, you’re often up against a hard deadline and a shifting, disorganized environment.

When disposing of IT assets in these situations, your task is to mitigate the risk to your organization and get the job done quickly.

Common situations that call for quick disposition of IT assets include:

• Bankruptcy
• Consolidation
• Merger
• Data center merger
• Downsizing
• Closing a division or data center

Usually, when these situations occur, the property manager or IT manager doesn’t have much time to plan and manage the disposition. In these chaotic situations, often the best approach to asset disposition is to partner with an experienced asset disposition solution provider or equipment re-marketer with the expertise and facilities to handle the logistical challenge.

Here are three things to consider when evaluating a potential asset disposition partner:

• Expertise: Is the solution provider familiar with your equipment? A trained representative can appraise the equipment on site and tell you whether or not it’s worth removing. In some situations, understanding each party’s obligations and liability for data security and the equipment itself will determine the best disposition process. An expert in reverse logistics and asset disposition can help you sort through the different scenarios.

• Ability: It sounds the same as expertise, but it’s not. You can find people who know a lot about reselling equipment, but are they able to utilize company employees and bring in the labor to move the equipment out before your deadline? Do they have certified processes for handling and destroying data? When you’re working with a strict timetable—perhaps you’ve been allocated a certain number of days by a bankruptcy court or your company’s lease is expiring—you need a solution provider who knows the equipment and can move it out quickly and efficiently and ensure data security

• Logistics: Where is the equipment going? How is it getting there? Is it being packed and handled to prevent damage and maintain maximum resale value? Is the chain of custody clear and secure?

• Value: The financial value your organization is getting back through the asset disposition should be an important factor when deciding on a solution provider, but it should not be the only one. Consider all of your costs such as the use of internal resources, transportation to far away facilities, as well risks of data breach or environmental non-compliance. The costs could outweigh the value of the assets themselves. The right asset disposition partner will help you minimize all of the costs and the risks while maximizing the return.

When you’re under the clock because of a merger, bankruptcy, data center closing, or another similar scenario, you don’t want to make mistakes. Partnering with a responsible and experienced IT asset disposition provider can make the difference between a smooth, organized process, and a chaotic, disorganized one.

EPC Celebrates MO Sales Tax Holiday by Opening Warehouse to the Public

In an effort to help parents with the costs of sending their students back to school, Missouri has established this weekend as a Sales Tax Holiday. From 12:01 a.m. on Friday August 7th to midnight on Sunday the 9th, certain back to school items are deemed tax exempt.

Included in these tax exempt back to school items are personal computers and computer peripherals. To enhance this tax holiday, EPC is opening our warehouse to the public for a huge sale. All items will be at least 15% off of our already low prices in addition to the discount from the exempted tax.

On Saturday, August 8th, from 8am to 2pm only, customers can browse through the thousands of laptops, desktops, servers, printers and every other computer-realted hardware and peripherals that can be found in our warehouse – a space that is about the size of two football fields.

For more information about the Missouri Sales Tax Holiday stipulations, you can check out the Department of Revenue’s website.

EPC is Employer of the Year – Energy Efficiency

At a recent St. Charles Chamber of Commerce luncheon, EPC was awarded the 2009 Employer of the Year in the newly created Energy Efficient category. This award was mainly focused on our environmental commitment and their efforts to reduce energy consumption.
Presenting the award was St. Charles Mayor, Patty York who said in announcing the award, “EPC’s commitment to a clean environment by recycling paper, plastic and computer equipment, refurbishing components and avoiding landfills is excellent.” York added that EPC’s “involvement of your employees in state and national recycling organizations is commendable.”
In addition to the award, EPC was presented with 6 framed proclamations from the St. Charles City and County, the Missouri House and Senate, as well as the US House of Representatives.
President Dan Fuller accepted the award and commented on EPC’s 200+ employees, “While I had the pleasure of receiving the accolades for the award, this is much more about all of you and your commitment to EPC. Without a dedicated, hard working commitment by you none of these awards would be possible.”

Redbirds Go Green – Cardinals add Recycling to their Lineup

The grass in Busch Stadium isn’t the only thing green this baseball season. Now in its second season, the St. Louis Cardinals’ “For a Greener Game” campaign continues to recycle the trash that fans leave behind in the stands. Last season, stadium employees collected and recycled 220 tons of cardboard, paper, aluminum and plastic that, in past seasons, would’ve ended up in a landfill.

In a further effort to contribute to the local community, the “For a Greener Game” initiative has joined with the St. Patrick Center in order to help homeless St. Louisans find meaningful and gainful employment.

In addition to the season-long recycling efforts, there are a couple of games that are specifically dedicated to going green. Those games are on Earth Day, 4/22 and World Environment Day, 6/5, and include discounted tickets, an environmental expo and a “For a Greener Game” organic tee shirt.
Go Redbirds! Go Green!

The DDRV is heading to Texas… YeeHaw!

This Saturday, Josh & Dan are headed to Texas in DDRV 2. They’ll be heading through several major cities from St. Louis, including Oklahoma City, San Marcos and Austin, Texas, shredding thousands of hard drives as they go. It’s always an adventure with these two, so I’m looking forward to hearing what Josh will Twitter about.
